Palak Paneer

Palak-Paneer

Paneer cooked in spinach based gravy and fresh indian spices.

Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Cooking Time : 15-20 minutes
Servings : 2

Ingredients

Spinach 2 large bunches

paneer cubes

1 big Onion

1 tomato pureed or finely chopped

4-5 garlic pods

1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

pich of turmeric

1tsp red chilli powder

2 green chillies

1tsp jeera

cinnamon stick 1/2 inch

2 cardomoms

2 cloves

3-4 tsp oil

salt to taste


Procedure

  • Remove stems, wash spinach thoroughly in running water.
  • Blanch in salted boiling water for two minutes. Refresh in chilled water. Squeeze out excess water.
  • Remove stems, wash and roughly chop green chillies.
  • Grind spinach into a fine paste along with green chillies.
  • Dice paneer into one inch pieces.Peel, wash and chop garlic.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cinnamon stick,cardomoms,cloves and cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, add chopped garlic and sauté for half a minute. Add the onions and let them turn light brown.
  • Now,add ginger-garlic paste and let it fry for 1 minute.
  • Now,add tomato puree or chopped tomatoes and let them cook till they become very soft.Add turmeric,red chilli powder and sufficient salt.Now,add palak paste and stir for 5mts.After 5minutes you will find oil oozing out of the gravy then add paneer cubes to the gravy and cook for 5 mts.
  • Your Palak-Paneer is ready :)
